Description:

Frederick Douglass is one of the most influential leaders in the abolitionist movement, most notably in Massachusetts and Maryland. He also actively supported the women's suffrage movement and tried to strive for equal rights for all people, which was beyond progressive in 1800s America. In 1845, he released a best selling autobiography, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, which described his experience as a slave.
