Description:

Ruby Bridges is most known for being the first black child to go to an all-white school in Louisiana in the the 1960s while segregation was at its peak. Her experience inspired Norman Rockwell to create one of his most famous paintings entitled The Problem We All Live With. In the painting, it shows a six-year-old Ruby Bridges walking alongside white deputy marshals on her way to William Frantz Elementary School on November 14, 1960.
