Description:
Cholly was abandoned in a junk heap when he is just a baby and is raised by his Aunt Jimmy. He had no role model to teach him how to be a parent or love children. When he becomes a father, he is at a complete loss at what to do. Morrison recognizes the importance of solid role models and explains to the reader, through Cholly's storym that all children, especially children of color need role models in their lives to empower and guide them.
