Description:
Garth Hudson, the Band’s keyboardist whose unique sounds & styles on rock songs including Up on Cripple Creek, Rag Mama Rag & others, died Jan. 21 at 87. He was the eldest & last surviving member of the Band. The Band reshaped modern American music. A much in demand session musician, Hudson played the Lowrey organ & was described as "the most brilliant organist in the rock world.” The Band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.
