Description:
Letters in the Bluest Eye is Toni Morrison's way of questioning god. After Pecola meets with Soaphead Church he writes an angry letter, in which he is blaming God for making the world so bad. Both in his life and Pecola's, there are unfairnesses, and he believes that God is to blame for those. He condemns god for not allowing Pecola to have blue eyes, and therefore not allowing her to be empowered like all the girls with blue eyes.
