Description:
Louise Lasser, the actress best known for the groundbreaking sitcom Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, died July 6 at age 87. Lasser’s acclaimed portrayal of the anxious, overwhelmed title character earned her an Emmy nomination and made her one of television’s most distinctive stars of the 1970s. Lasser also appeared in several Woody Allen films and enjoyed a career spanning more than five decades.
