Description:
US musician & producer Steve Albini, who worked with bands including Nirvana, the Pixies and PJ Harvey, died on May 7. He was 61. Albini was an instrumental and uncompromising figure in the US indie scene in the 1980s & 90s, leading bands including Big Black and Shellac. Albini ran his own studio, Electrical Audio, in Chicago, and was preparing for the May 17 release of Shellac's first album since 2014.
