Description:
Jill Sobule, who sang the 1995 hit I Kissed a Girl, died May 8 in a house fire. She was 66. Sobule's other major hit, also in 1995, was Supermodel, from the movie Clueless. Later on, she was a pioneer of crowdfunded music when she decided to go to fans for help with producing her music & raised $89,000 to fund her album California Years. Sobule began her recording career in 1990 and released a total of 12 albums.
