Description:
Ted Turner, the media entrepreneur who founded CNN and transformed cable television with the first 24-hour news network, died May 6 at age 87. A larger-than-life figure in American business and broadcasting, and former husband of Jane Fonda, he also owned the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Hawks and became known for major environmental and philanthropic efforts. Turner helped reshape how the world consumed news and media.
