Former Connecticut US senator Joseph I. Lieberman, who was chosen by Al Gore as his running mate for vice-president in the 2000 election, & the 1st Jewish candidate on a major-party Presidential ticket, has died at the age of 82. After the 2000 loss, Lieberman angered Democrats by his rightward direction in supporting George W Bush’s Iraq war. After 4 terms, Lieberman left the Senate & helped lead the bipartisan political organization, No Labels.
