Description:
Cholly is caught having sex in the woods with Darlene by two white men. Theyshine their flashlights on him and force him to continue right in from of them. The white men resemble society and the flashlight represents the constant pressure on black men to be sex hungry beasts. Due to this he impregnates his daughter. Morrison uses this shocking event to explain how black men are constantly hypersexualized by society
