Description:
Doris Fisher, the co-founder of Gap who helped build one of America’s most recognizable clothing retailers, died May 2 at 94. She and her husband, Donald Fisher, opened the first Gap store in 1969 in San Francisco. Fisher coined the name “The Gap” to reflect the generation gap. The company grew into a global brand that reshaped casual fashion.
