Description:
Chiung Yao, the popular Chinese language romance novelist, died Dec. 4 from an apparent suicide. Yao began writing at 18 and published more than 60 novels, many of which were adapted into movies and TV series. Yao was also a successful screenwriter and producer. One of her most famous works was the TV drama My Fair Princess. Yao had not been active in recent years.
