Brooklyn-born Ryan's Hope star Helen Gallagher died Nov. 22 at age 98.
Gallagher starred as matriarch Maeve Ryan on the hit show from 1975 to 1989. Other credits to her name include Law & Order and the show All My Children. Gallagher was also a Broadway star and appeared in shows including Hazel Flagg, High Button Shoes and Sweet Charity. Throughout her career, she received Daytime Emmys and Tony Awards for both her roles.
