Description:
Successful national TV talk show host & journalist Phil Donahue, died on August 18 at age 88. Nationally syndicated in 1969, Donahue ran until 1996, on over 200 stations across the US. Donahue interviewed heads of state, politicians, feminists, the KKK & more. He was the only talk show host to land South Africa’s Nelson Mandela right after his release from prison. Donahue received 9 Daytime Emmys. He is survived by wife Marlo Thomas.
