Actor Elizabeth MacRae, who famously starred as Lou-Ann, Gomer’s sweetheart on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. from 1966-69, died on May 27, 2024. She was 88. MacRae also appeared on The Andy Griffith Show in 1967.MacRae also had an extensive soap opera career on General Hospital & Guiding Light. She appeared in the 1974 film, The Conversation. After she retired from acting, MacRae focused on her work as a drug and alcohol counselor in New York City.
