Description:
Phil Lesh, co-founder and bassist of the Grateful Dead, died Oct. 25 84. Lesh had a 30+ year partnership with lead guitarist Jerry Garcia, and co-wrote some of their best-known songs, including Truckin’, Box of Rain, and Unbroken Chain. After Garcia’s death, Lesh continued to perform with other Dead members and other guest musicians. In 2005, Lesh published his memoir Searching for the Sound: My Life with the Grateful Dead.
