Description:
Wisconsin-born Gena Rowlands, one of the greatest actors to ever practice the craft & a star in independent cinema, has died August 14 at 94. Married to John Cassavetes, the husband-&-wife team made 10 films outside the studio system, across 4 decades, including, A Woman Under the Influence and Gloria. In 2004, she appeared in her son Nick’s acclaimed film, The Notebook. Over her career Rowlands won 4 Emmys, 2 Golden Globes & 1 honorary Oscar.
