Emmanuel Mensah, a 28-year-old private in the Army National Guard, evacuated his six roommates and rescued four neighbors from a deadly Bronx fire 12/28/2017. He went back in the building to save more, but wound up among the 12 victims who did not survive. Mensah immigrated to the U.S. from Ghana in 2012 and had just completed basic training.
