Description:
Steve Cropper, guitarist, songwriter, and founding member of Booker T. & the M.G.’s, has died at 84. As part of Stax Records’ house band, he played on and co-wrote landmark soul recordings and became a key figure in the label’s sound. Cropper was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame for his contributions to American music.
