Description:
Former Republican U.S. Sen. Alan Simpson of Wyoming, a political legend who had friends of both sides of the aisle, died March 14 at 93. Today, Simpson would be considered a moderate. Simpson served from 1979-1997, was a deficit hawk who was no fan of government assistance, but supported abortion rights. Simpson is survived by his wife and 3 children.
