John Lennon was one of the most influential musicians of the 20th Century. He was the co-founder of The Beatles, considered one of the most popular and musically influential bands in history. Lennon was also a political and social activist who publicly supported the Civil Rights Movement and campaigned against the Vietnam War. He was assassinated by a deranged gunman in NYC.
