Description:
Barney Frank, the longtime Massachusetts congressman whose career spanned 32 years, died May 19 at age 86. One of the first openly gay members of Congress, Frank became a leading voice for LGBTQ rights and a powerful figure in Democratic politics. Frank co-authored the landmark Dodd-Frank Act, the most sweeping overhaul of the financial system since the Great Depression. He is survived by his husband.
