Description:
Harriet Tubman is known for contributing to the abolition of slavery. She rescued many enslaved people and families by using a network of safe houses known as the Underground rail road. Tubman was also a spy for the Union side of the US army and helped them beat the Confederates in the Civil War. She also was active in Civil Rights after the war by recruiting people for John Brown's Raid on Harper's Ferry.
