Description:
Cecile Richards, former president of Planned Parenthood & daughter of the late former Texas Governor Ann Richards, died Jan 20 at 67. From 2006-2018. Richards boosted the profile of Planned Parenthood which provided women's reproductive health care, & was criticized by conservatives and anti-abortion activists who wanted to strip its government funding.In 2024, President Joe Biden honored Richards with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
