Description:
Geoff Capes, who competed for Great Britain in the shot put at 3 Olympic Games and twice won the World’s Strongest Man competition, died Oct. 23 at 75. Capes was famous in the UK in the 1980s for his strength. He represented England & Great Britain in the shot put, and was twice Commonwealth champion, as well as European indoor champion. Today Capes still holds the British record for the shot put at 21.68 metres (71 ft 2 in).
