Description:
Gloria Steinem, the pioneering feminist, author and activist who became one of the most visible leaders of the U.S. women’s movement, died Sept. 2 at 92. A co-founder of Ms. magazine, Steinem spent decades advocating for women’s rights, speaking at campuses, rallies and marches across the country. She received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama in 2013.
