Description:
David Sanborn, the 6-time Grammy-winning saxophonist who had a hugely successful career as a performer of melodic, contemporary jazz, has died at 78. Sanborn released eight gold albums and one platinum album. He frequently played with Paul Shaffer’s band on “Late Night With David Letterman,” and played solos on such hits as David Bowie’s “Young Americans” and James Taylor’s “How Sweet It Is.” Sanborn had eight gold albums and one platinum album.
