Description:
Luis Alvarez, a former New York City police detective who was a leader in the fight for proper support of the September 11th victim compensation fund died 06/29/2019 at the age of 53. Alvarez was found to have colorectal cancer in 2016. He blamed his illness on three months spent in the rubble of the World Trade Center after the attacks in 2001.
