Description:
Cincinnati Reds’ Pete Rose, baseball’s career hits leader who undermined his historic achievements & Hall of Fame dreams by gambling on the game, died Sept 30 at 83. Rose was rookie of the year in 1963, & 17-time All-Star. He played in 3 World Series winners & was WS MVP in 1975. Rose, aka “Charlie Hustle” holds the major league record for games played & plate appearances. Rose was banned in 1989 after gambling on the Reds as their manager.
