Description:Bob Weir, the singer, songwriter, and guitarist who helped define the sound of the Grateful Dead for more than five decades, died Jan. 10 at age 78. A founding member of the band, Weir co-wrote many of its best-known songs and continued performing through later projects including Dead & Company.
Bob Weir, the singer, songwriter, and guitarist who helped define the sound of the Grateful Dead for more than five decades, died Jan. 10 at age 78. A founding member of the band, Weir co-wrote many of its best-known songs and continued performing through later projects including Dead & Company.
Weir was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the band.
