Description:
Dickey Betts, guitarist, singer, songwriter and founding member of The Allman Brothers Band, died on April 18, 2024. He was 80. .In the 70s and 80s the band broke up and reformed 3 times. Betts was ousted in 2000 for his continued drug use; he never played with them again. Betts was inducted with the band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. Betts was ranked 358 on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time list in 2003.
