Description:
Susan Wojcicki, who served as CEO of YouTube, died on Friday, August 9. She was 56. Wojcicki joined Google in 1999 as the 16th employee, becoming its first marketing exec & would become one of the prominent women leaders in Silicon Valley. In 2005, Wojcicki led the launch of Google Video & in 2006 oversaw the company’s $1.65B purchase of YouTube. She was named YouTube’s CEO in 2014 & stepped down in 2023 for health and family reasons.
