Ivan Boesky, the financier known for the “greed is good” mantra before being indicted in one of the biggest Wall Street insider trading scandals of the 1980s, has died at 87. Boesky partly inspired the character Gordon Gekko in the movie Wall Street. Worth an estimated $280m, he was a genius at speculation in takeover stocks. Boesky received 3.5 years in prison by cooperating with the government & testifying against Michael Milken.
